About the Role

Our team is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to hit the ground running. This role would suit someone who is autonomous and technically experienced. With your skills and abilities, you will be able to take on medium to large jobs and liaise with the client directly to resolve queries. You will be someone who is a problem solver and always looking to learn more as you further develop your skills. This role will require someone who can learn quickly, focus and prioritise their work. A strong attention to detail is a must for this role.

We need a reliable and hardworking person who can be trusted to take on jobs. We are looking for someone who is eager to apply the knowledge they have gained in their career and to also take advantage of the training available throughout the firm and in the team. 

As a Senior Accountant, you will be primarily responsible for the:

  • Preparation of Income Tax Returns and Financial Statements for Trusts, Partnerships and Companies
  • Provision and research of taxation advice
  • Preparation of forecasts and budgets
  • Prompt and effective communication with clients through emails, phone calls and meetings
  • Review of BAS's and IAS's
  • Training of new graduates and/or co-workers
  • Liaison with the team manager for feedback or advice
  • Management of personal work-flow
  • Preparation of fees
  • Reviewal of workpapers

Requirements for the role

  • 4-5 years of experience within the Accounting industry (Public Practice)
  • Commerce related degree
  • Completion of CA/CPA qualifications
  • Strong problem solving and workflow planning skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with MYOB AE (desirable)
  • Experience with Xero (desirable)
  • Ability to work well within a team environment

Payroll & Accounts Officer

About our role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our team. This role is for someone who can hit the ground running and continue to upskill themselves to further assist our Finance Manager.

With many different priorities to focus on, you will need to manage your schedule so that everything runs smoothly. It is essential that you enjoy working with technology and that you are always looking for ways to make processes more efficient.

As a Payroll & Accounts Officer, your duties will be:

  • Processing payroll for 120 members of staff (within a monthly pay cycle) including the calculation and subsequent lodgement of Payroll Tax. Payments regarding WorkCover, Superannuation and Parental Leave as needs arise. Calculating of Final Pay for exiting employees.
  • Supervision of AP and the activities of the outsourced Accountant responsible for this function.
  • Completion of Activity Statements and Income Tax Returns.
  • Reconciliations for petty cash, receipts, allowances and credit cards.
  • Reconciliation and control of the General Ledger.
  • Processing of staff reimbursements and the disbursements of client outlays.
  • Month-end activities such as the processing of transactions, journal entries and providing assistance towards the Finance Manager.
  • Acting as the main point-of-contact for suppliers, including the ongoing management of accounts and the set-up of new suppliers.


Requirements of our role

  • Strong payroll experience including a comprehensive knowledge of current laws and regulations
  • 2-3 years of experience within an Accounts Department
  • Proficiency with MYOB (MYOB AE would be ideal but is not mandatory). Proficiency with MYOB Live would be highly regarded.
  • Proficiency with ReceiptBank (desirable)
  • Intermediate or advanced skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience within a professional services firm, particularly an understanding of the function of client outlays and disbursements.

  • Strong time management skills to ensure that month-end activities, payroll and AP happen seamlessly.

  • Ability to communicate well with senior members of staff. Particularly the ability to follow up missing information in a respectful manner.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated Accountant with bi-lingual skills to join one of our Business Services teams. This team has a strong Korean client base and will require bi-lingual skills (Korean / English) to be successful in this role.
